Medical and Social WorkSocial Work Job Bank - If you are looking for work in the field of social work, see SocialWorkJobBank.com. This is a job board and career center dedicated to social work positions. Assistance to the job seeker is free. Here the job seeker can receive E-mail job alerts ("Personal Job Agents") can now be set based on location, job function, and job setting. Candidates can post a searchable "Candidate Profile résumé that keeps contact information confidential unless you want it released to a prospective employer. There is an "Apply Online" feature that offers three different ways to submit your application to employers who have posted their job openings. You can have your own private career page, where you can keep track of job applications, cover letters, and other info. The job seeker can search for social work jobs from your computer, any time of day or night. Even if the application deadline is tomorrow (or today!), there's still time to apply. Employers who are posting a job can save job listing information for similar jobs in the future. There is the option to pay by credit card or invoice. The employer can create filters to pre-screen candidates. Searching candidate profiles is easy and free. You only pay for contact information of résumés when both you AND the candidate are interested in each other. There is an employer newsletter for site updates and special offers: click on "General Info" and then "Newsletters." There is a private recruiting center, where you can keep track of your job postings, candidates, and so on. There are e-mailings available for the job seeker and for the employer. The cost to an employer for a 30 day posting of one job announcement is $75.00 and for 60 days $100.00. See the site for other opportunities both for reduced prices and for multiple job postings. Read the terms of use and the privacy statement here as with any other jobs site. SocialService.Com has job opportunities offered at http://www.socialservice.com/web/states/national/nat_job.htm. SocialService.Com offers free "Job Agents" which will e-mail job seekers new job postings that match the geographic, educational and keyword criteria that you select. You can modify or stop/restart your Job Agent online at any time. Job seekers can also post their resume on SocialService.Com, letting employers find them and making it possible to apply for many of the jobs listed on SocialService.Com. The set up includes selection of a user name and a password. There is a newsletter with job updates. When I reviewed the site in June 2004 there were 412 jobs listed. Jobs are listed by state, education requirements and date of job listing. Employers may post openings either for state or national advertising at http://www.socialservice.com/web/job-ad.htm. The ad prices start for one job posting for $55.00 for301 days; there are other rates for multiple job openings. The site offers employers the ability to search the resume database of social service job seekers throughout the U.S. For only $45, employers can search, view and print resumes from our social service resume database for one month and they may opt to receive e-mailed notices of newly posted resumes that match their selected criteria. If health care is your profession or goal, visit The Health Care Shop, http://www.nonprofitemployment.com/, and click on "See ALL of Our Health Care Job Store Sites". The site has an incredible list of over 175 links to employment opportunities in the health fields from "Admissions Jobs" to "Wellness Jobs". There are lists of links by geography, for nursing and other professions. There is help creating a resume and there are salary studies. LawThe Equal Justice Network provides information, advocacy and job listings for nonprofit law firms such as legal services programs for low-income communities and residents nationwide. Although many of the job openings are for attorneys, there are listings for I. T. people, paralegals, program assistants, fiscal personnel and other opportunities. Employer listings are limited to nonprofit organizations. You can access Equal Justice at http://www.equaljustice.org/jobs/index.html Management Information Exchange provides a periodic management journal, training and other activities for legal services programs for low-income communities. Jobs advertised include positions for lawyers, paralegals, technical and administrative staff and law school clinics, http://www.m-i-e.org EducationEmployers, mostly academic institutions, will find the Affirmative Action Register, http://www.aar-eeo.com/, helpful. Employers post an opening and the managers of the site will get back to you with a proposal and pricing. Jobseekers will find listings alphabetically, by state and position. Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), http://www.case.org presents employment opportunities in management ranks at higher education institutions. Job seekers can search the site through key words such as "Advancement Management", "Alumni Relations", "Major and Planned Giving", "Student Recruitment" and more. Employers are charged $150 for the first ad and $100 for each additional ad placed at the same time. The Chronicle of Higher Education, http://www.chronicle.com/jobs, has higher education jobs that appear in its print edition. Jobs can be found in nonprofits, foundations, environmental agencies, museums, religious organizations and medical facilities. There are more than 2,500 jobs online including faculty jobs as well as executive and administrative positions. The cost to an employer is $195 plus $1 per word for 30 days online and in the print edition of the Chronicle that has more than 450,000 readers. The cost for an online ad only is $195 for 30 days and will reach about 100,000 weekly visitors most of whom do not subscribe to the Chronicle. The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management web site, http://www.appam.org, has jobs mostly for higher education and government.
