What are board policies?
Board policies are the members' guidelines for how they can best work together, e.g., when they want to meet, how many committees members should be on, how they recruit and orient new members, how they manage for consistent attendance, how the board will work with the executive director (e.g., will they plan the agenda together?), etc. The Free Management Library offers links to sample on-line policies and manuals at
